The Growing Demand for Injectable Pharmaceuticals in Indonesia
Indonesia’s pharmaceutical market is one of the fastest-growing in Southeast Asia, driven by an expanding population, increasing healthcare access and a rising demand for critical care medications. Injectable drugs – including antibiotics, vitamins and life-saving parenteral formulations – represent a high-priority segment, both for domestic supply and for export to neighbouring markets.
For pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia, entering the injectable segment is both an opportunity and a serious operational challenge. Unlike oral solid dosage manufacturing, injectable pharmaceutical production demands an entirely different level of infrastructure, hygiene control, equipment precision and regulatory compliance. Any lapses in sterility, filling accuracy or containment can directly compromise patient safety – making the choice of equipment and project partner a critical business decision.
This was the exact situation faced by our Indonesian client: a growing pharmaceutical company with an established oral dosage business, looking to expand into injectable manufacturing through a complete, integrated and compliant production facility.
The Challenge: Setting Up a Sterile Injectable Facility from the Ground Up
The client’s primary challenge was not simply procuring a machine – they needed to build an entire injectable manufacturing ecosystem from scratch. Their requirements were multi-layered and highly specific:
Dual-Format Production Capability: The client needed to manufacture both liquid-filled injectables and dry powder injectables within the same facility. This meant integrating two distinct filling technologies – an Injectable Liquid Vial Filling Machine for their liquid formulations and an Injectable Vial Powder Filling Machine for their antibiotic and dry-powder-based injectables – into a single cohesive line.
Stringent Sterility and GMP Compliance: Indonesia’s National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) mandates WHO-GMP standards for pharmaceutical manufacturers, with specific provisions for sterile injectables. Every machine and process in the facility needed to be designed in accordance with these norms – from the cleanroom-compatible construction materials to the validated filling and stoppering mechanisms.
Turnkey Integration Complexity: The client did not want to manage multiple vendors for different equipment sections. They sought a single partner who could supply, install and commission the entire Injectable Filling Line – from vial washing and sterilisation through filling, stoppering, capping, inspection and labelling – as one fully integrated project.
Technical Support and After-Sales Commitment in Southeast Asia: Given Indonesia’s geographic location and the critical nature of injectable production, the client needed assurance of reliable installation supervision, operator training and ongoing technical support – not just a one-time equipment sale.

Advanced Inline & Rotary Oral Liquid Bottle Filling SystemsThe Solution: A Fully Integrated Injectable Filling Line & Turnkey Project
Shree Bhagwati Machtech proposed and delivered a complete, end-to-end Injectable Filling Line designed specifically to meet the client’s dual-format production goals and BPOM/WHO-GMP compliance requirements. The solution was engineered as a true turnkey project – from initial facility planning and equipment layout to final commissioning and operator qualification.
Vial Washing & Sterilisation
The line began with an automatic vial washing machine, featuring multi-stage washing with WFI (Water for Injection) and compressed air jets to ensure complete particulate-free cleaning. This was followed by a tunnel steriliser that subjected the washed vials to dry heat sterilisation at validated temperatures – a critical step for both liquid and powder injectable production to guarantee sterility assurance.
Injectable Liquid Vial Filling Line
For the liquid injectable segment, the team supplied a high-precision Injectable Liquid Vial Filling Machine equipped with a peristaltic or rotary piston filling system. The machine offered accurate volumetric filling across a range of vial sizes, with nitrogen flushing capability to protect oxygen-sensitive formulations. The integrated rubber stoppering unit ensured immediate, contamination-free closure of filled vials in a Class 100 / ISO 5 environment. This Injectable Liquid Vial Filling Line was designed to handle a broad range of liquid APIs with minimal product loss and validated fill accuracy within ±1%.

Turn Table MachinesInjectable Vial Powder Filling Line
For the dry powder segment – including antibiotic-grade APIs – an Injectable Powder Filling Machine with an auger-based dosing system was integrated into the line. The Injectable Vial Powder Filling Machine was built with SS316L product contact parts, enclosed powder handling to prevent cross-contamination and a servo-driven auger mechanism for precise dose control even with free-flowing and slightly cohesive powders. The machine was interlocked with a rubber stoppering station and was validated for both small and large batch sizes.
Downstream Processing: Capping, Inspection & Labelling
Post-filling, an automatic aluminium cap sealing machine applied tamper-evident closures to all stoppered vials. The line then fed into an automated vial inspection machine for particle detection and fill level verification. Finally, a high-speed self-adhesive vial labelling machine applied batch-coded labels in compliance with Indonesian pharmaceutical labelling requirements.
Turnkey Project Management
What set this engagement apart was Shree Bhagwati Machtech’s role as a true turnkey partner. The company’s project engineering team worked closely with the client’s facility design team to develop the complete equipment layout, define cleanroom integration points and sequence the installation process to minimise downtime. Detailed IQ/OQ/PQ (Installation, Operational and Performance Qualification) documentation was supplied for every machine, enabling the client to fast-track their BPOM approval process.
On-site installation was supervised by experienced Shree Bhagwati engineers, with comprehensive operator training conducted in both English and Bahasa Indonesia-compatible formats. The project was completed on schedule, with the facility achieving commercial production readiness within the agreed timeline.
Why the Indonesian Client Chose Shree Bhagwati Machtech Pvt. Ltd.
In a market where several domestic and international machinery suppliers compete for pharmaceutical projects, the client’s decision to partner with Shree Bhagwati Machtech was driven by a combination of technical credibility, project experience and commercial value.
Proven Expertise in Injectable Lines: Shree Bhagwati Machtech has an established track record of supplying Injectable Filling Lines – both liquid and powder formats – to pharmaceutical manufacturers across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The client’s technical team was able to visit reference installations and verify machine performance firsthand before placing the order.
Single-Source Turnkey Capability: The ability to procure the entire injectable manufacturing line – from washing to labelling – from a single vendor significantly simplified the client’s project management, warranty terms and vendor coordination. It also ensured seamless machine-to-machine integration, which is especially critical in sterile injectable environments.
Compliance-Ready Engineering: Every machine supplied was engineered with cGMP compliance as a baseline, not an add-on. SS316L contact parts, electro-polished surfaces, clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilise-in-place (SIP) compatibility and SCADA-ready control panels ensured that the facility met BPOM’s sterile manufacturing guidelines without requiring costly retrofits post-installation.
Cost-Effective Without Compromising Quality: Compared to European or US-origin machinery, Shree Bhagwati Machtech offered a significantly more competitive capital investment while delivering equivalent technical standards – a key consideration for a mid-scale pharmaceutical company scaling into injectable manufacturing for the first time.
Dedicated After-Sales Support: With a global service network and experience in supporting international clients, Shree Bhagwati Machtech provided the Indonesian client with ongoing technical support, spare parts supply and remote troubleshooting capabilities – giving the client the confidence to scale their injectable operations sustainably.
Results & Business Impact
The successful commissioning of the Injectable Filling Line marked a transformational milestone for the Indonesian client. With both liquid and powder injectable capabilities now operational under one roof, the company significantly expanded its pharmaceutical product portfolio. The cGMP-compliant facility positioned them to target institutional supply contracts and explore export opportunities to regional markets – outcomes that would not have been achievable without a reliable, experienced turnkey partner.
For Shree Bhagwati Machtech, this project further strengthened its presence in Southeast Asia’s fast-growing pharmaceutical equipment market and reaffirmed its position as a globally trusted manufacturer of injectable pharmaceutical machinery and turnkey project solutions.
